Hardware Installation

It you install hardware in your Mac on a regular basis, you can skip this chapter because there is nothing special with MPDD+. Otherwise please follow these simple suggestions:

Installing MPDD+ in your Mac

1. Please power off your Mac and monitor.
2. Discharge your body's static electricity by touching the metal surface of your Mac chassis. Then remove the Mac case cover. For more details please refer to the user manual of your Mac.
3. Remove the cover (bracket) of an empty PCI slot and save the screw.
4. Align your MPDD+ card with an empty PCI expansion slot, carefully grasp the card by the top edge and push it firmly into the slot. Tighten the screw to fasten the card in place and replace the Mac case cover.
5. Plug the monitor cable of the display into the MPDD+ then turn on the Mac and monitor.
6. Now you have finished the hardware installation and are ready to install the driver from the included CD.
7. Double click the Installer.

Software for MPDD+

Like any video card, you can choose from a variety of resolutions and refresh rates for your second monitor. You can use the standard Apple "Monitors" Control Panel or you can use the expanded capability of the MPDD+ Control Panel. The MPDD+ Panel offers additional resolutions that let you specify the virtual desktop, resolution, refresh rate (to minimize flicker) and many other features. Explore the options that this software presents to customize your monitors to best suit your needs.
