Compatibility Questions:
Is MPDD Pro
compatible with headless systems?
- Yes! You can download an ad hoc BIOS developed
for this purpose from the download
area.
Is
MPDD Pro compatible with my Mac OS or Mac OS X version?
- Most likely, yes!
- MPDD Pro is compatible with Mac OS X versions 7.5.3-9.2.2 and
Mac OS X versions 10.1.x-10.3.x.
Is MPDD Pro
compatible with G5 systems?
- Yes! We tried MPDD Pro in each of the new G5 system's
PCI-X slots (poth on PwerMacs G5 and XServe G5) and
it works like a charm. While on a PCI-X slot MPDD Pro works a 66MHz.
Is MPDD Pro compatible with 66MHz slots in
PowerMac G3s and G4s?
- Yes, and works at the full 66MHz speed.
Can I connect 2 monitors
to my MPDD Pro?
- This is not the proper use. MPDD Pro has 2 connectors in order
to allow you to either connect an Apple RGB Monitor
or an VGA Monitor without any adapter
Can I use a Monitor with Sync on green on the MPDD Pro?
- You can by using a special adapter. Companies like Dr. Bott provide
such solutions.
Tech Support Questions:
At startup, after the initial gray screen, I don't get
any image on the display
- Usually after a system update, but also in other circumstances,
Mac OS X may select an unsafe resolution and stick with
it even if it is not supported by the connected display. When the
system has just one display and this situation occurs, the system
may not be accessible.
- To solve this problem please refer to the
following Apple tech support document: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107319
MPDD Pro does not activate if the display
is connected through a KVM switch
- This situation is addressed by the MPDD Pro Headless
Support software. Please download it from the download
area.
Scrolling text in list view under Mac
OS 7-8-9 creates missing lines and/or text
-
You need to upgrade the 2D Accelerator to version
1.1 or higher, included in software installer 1.1 or later.
Please check in the download
area.
I cannot play DVD movies any more since when I have
your card installed
-
Apple DVD player requires that the main display (i.e. the
one with the menu bar) is connected to a graphics
card that offers DVD acceleration. Make sure you change your
display configuration to have the main display on the internal
(usually AGP) card and that you have updated drivers for it.
When I am using Photoshop 5.5, the Cursor disappears when
moving over a window of Photoshop
- This is caused by a incompatibility of the Cursor Plug
In of Adobe. If you remove this plugin from the plugin folder
the effect is gone. A newer version of Adobe Photoshop also
fixes the problem.
When I am using Photoshop
6.0 or later, palettes dragged on the display connected to
MPDD Pro lose their outline or leave a track behind
- This is a known issue between Photoshop and Apple while
displaysing palettes on an additional, not AGP, graphics
card. This bug has been reported to both Addobe and Apple.
When I look at The Apple System Profiler
I can´t
find the MPDD Pro Card but the Monitor works
- In the System-Profiler the Card is shown as VTXP jjbabacd.
Why sometimes I cannot reach resolutions
up to 100 Hz?
- Not all the display resolution and color modes can
reach 100 Hz refresh rate. Try switching from Millions
to Thousands of colors or/and decrease the resolution
and the 100 Hz frequency will became available.
Why sometimes I cannot reach million of colors
video modes?
- Not all the display resolution and frequency rates
can reach million of colors modes. Try switching from
Millions to Thousands of colors or/and decrease the refresh
rate and the million of colors mode will became available.
