From January 2007 the free VT MultiDisplay

notebook graphics card: VTBook.

VTBook Linux
drivers version 1.0 released! |
|
Finally it's here: the first official
release!
Don't be mistaken: this driver is not a
point-and-click installation. It requires deep Linux knowledge
any abilitities.
But it's stable, offers both VGA and DVI
capabilties, 2D hardware acceleration and is compatible with
latest kernel and Xorg.
There is still a long feature list to implement,
so please send us feedback to help prioritize its items.
One special notice for Wyse customers who
are using a Linux-based thin client: the VTBook Linux drivers
for Wyse are developed by Village Tronic but are distributed
directly by Wyse and are compatible with their latest Linux
images.
The new drivers can be downloaded here.
Please read thoroughly all documentation before installing
them.

Farewell MPDD Pro |
|
MPDD Pro has been in the Village Tronic
product line for many years with great satisfaction for both
us and our customers.
In this period, MPDD Pro demonstrated how a secondary display
card should be: reliable, flexible, stable. And honestly
priced, of course.
We are aware that many Mac users with PCI
and PCI-X equipped Macintoshes are still looking for a secondary
graphics card, but component constraints are preventing us
from making new MPDD Pros.
So, MPDD Pro is officially declared EOL.
Farewell, MPDD Pro!
We will keep updated the MPDD Pro drivers
as long as the new Mac OS X releases will allow us. Since
there are no new Macs with PCI or PCI-X slots that will be
easier of course.

Panning Strikes
Back:
MPDD Pro drivers 2.0 |
|
A much-awaited driver update brings full
2D acceleration compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger
and, most importantly, brings panning back in Mac OS X!
The VT Voilà multi
display utility is now bundled in the MPDD Pro OS X installer
and is fully aware of panning, tremendously extending its
useful applications in a multi display setup.
Both panning and VT Voilà require
Panther or Tiger on Mac OS X.
The driver features more fixes and advances
for Mac OS X, including better resolution support, better
support for vintage displays, faster 2D acceleration in Panther
and Tiger, other bug fixes.
You can download the new driver from the
MPDD Pro downloads page.

Change your Mac
OS X multi display experience forever: VT Voilà |
|
VT Voilà is
a suite of interface enhancements that considerably speeds
up user interaction with large (and very large) screen configurations.
We recognized two main problems the multi display user must
face:
Mouse pointer traveling time (and space on desk as a side effect).
Lost items, that can be the mouse pointer or the current task
or the next task he wants to switch to.
Moreover, if the user is working on one or more panned screens
(even more space available!), another problem may arise:
Some screen real estate is temporarily hidden.
VT Voilà is a simple yet effective solution for
these inconveniences. However, we have to admit that there
is a major drawback in VT Voilà: it is highly addictive.
We have observed customers that, while forced to use other
computers, were frantically hitting the VT Voilà hot
keys trying to make their cursors jump. Even on single screen
systems!
VT Voilà is a free Mac OS X
utility that you can download here or
find bundled with your Village Tronic graphics card installer. |

VTBook Windows 2.4
Standard and 1.2
DualDisplay drivers released! |
|
Hot Plug and Hot Unplug on Windows XP
is a reality!
Our driver developers have finally been
able to accomplish the impossible: make Windows accept a
completely hot pluggable graphics card.
With this release a new VTBook Gauge application
will offer all the needed controls to hot plug and hot unplug
your VTBook, adding a little taskbar icon for your convenience.
You are now able to plug VTBook while the system is running
and unplug it at any moment using the Hot Unplug command.
And when you re-plug VTBook, the VTBook screens positions
are automatically recalled for you.
Hot plug/unplug is available in both the
standard and DualDisplay drivers on Windows XP, other improvements
are available for both Windows XP and Windows 2000:
- Improved implementation when reading native
display resolutions
- Now the display(s) are correctly powered
off for energy saving
- Other small fixes
You can find the complete new feature
list here and
download the drivers here.
As always, please read all documentation before using the
