Change your Mac
OS X multi display experience forever: VT Voilà |
|
VT Voilà is
a suite of interface enhancements that considerably speeds
up user interaction with large (and very large) screen configurations.
We recognized two main problems the multi display user must
face:
Mouse pointer traveling time (and space on desk as a side effect).
Lost items, that can be the mouse pointer or the current task
or the next task he wants to switch to.
Moreover, if the user is working on one or more panned screens
(even more space available!), another problem may arise:
Some screen real estate is temporarily hidden.
VT Voilà is a simple yet effective solution for
these inconveniences. However, we have to admit that there
is a major drawback in VT Voilà: it is highly addictive.
We have observed customers that, while forced to use other
computers, were frantically hitting the VT Voilà hot
keys trying to make their cursors jump. Even on single screen
systems!
VT Voilà is a free Mac OS X
utility that you can download here or
find bundled with your Village Tronic graphics card installer.

Village Tronic presents
VTBook DualDisplay at SMAU 2004 |
|
Village
Tronic's DualDisplay technology is ready to ship: the final Dual
Display solution has been presented in Milan at SMAU
2004, Italy's biggest ICT show.
VTBook DualDisplay allows one VTBook to
run up to two external displays, to reach a total of three
external displays and a grand total of four displays on one
notebook.
This solution has been thought for demanding
customers, as traders for
example, that need not only a huge display surface
but also more than three physically separate displays.
Village
Tronic's CTO Ascanio Orlandini (standing on the right)
and Product Manager Carlo Volpi (enjoying the three external
displays) showing VTBook DualDisplay in Milan
The VTBook DualDisplay solution consists
of a custom made cable that brings the two video signals
to the respective displays and a special driver that, seamlessly
integrated with Windows, drives them.
Each display is an independent screen that can be used in
desktop extension adding more and more pixels of real screen
estate ready to be used by any application.
VTBook DualDisplay solution will be very soon
available worldwide at the estimated price of 59USD.

Windows 2.1 drivers released! |
|
Thought that VTBook drivers were already good enough?
Not quite true: they've just become better!
The new Windows drivers bring to every VTBook user
the possibility to connect a compatible HDTV display
or television.
We also added many new widescreen resolutions and
the predefined resolutions are now more than 170! Whether
you are using a VGA monitor, a DVI or ADC digital display
or HDTV equipment you are definitely likely to find
the resolution you need built in VTBook.
And, as you can see by this growing list, we do implement
resolutions needed even by only one customer... and
we love to do it.
You can see the new complete resolution list
in the VTBook Tech
Spec page and the added resolutions listed in
the Version
History page.
This new driver release also brings updated documentation
and fixes an odd and fairly annoying bug: the
wake-from-standby issue on low-power notebooks.
The new drivers can be downloaded
here. As always, please read all documentation
before using the drivers. |

In other words, Village Tronic's team is proud of this new addition to
